With pigment- and dry-based inks sometimes getting mixed reviews for smudging and blurring at inopportune times, Ricoh’s GelSprinter inkjet printers have turned to high viscosity inks for higher-quality prints. The GelSprinter GX2500 gives consumers a new entry-level option that aims to minimize bleeding and keep your printouts as sharp and clear as when they first hit the page. In addition, a wider and more durable printhead increases monochrome and color printing speeds to 28 ppm while lowering overall replacement costs.
Besides the ink and the printhead, the GX2500 provides the basic features you’d expect from an office inkjet designed for smaller businesses. You get 16 MB of memory, 250 sheet paper capacity, and optional network connectivity. However, keep in mind that the GX2500 only works for Windows. In addition, you can’t print anything bigger than your run-of-the-mill 8.5″x11″ page. Regardless, the unique ink, solid print speed, and $169 MSRP make the Ricoh GelSprinter GX2500 worth a look for smaller businesses.
